"Go to the ant, O sluggard,
Consider her ways and be wise.
Which, having no chief, officer or ruler,
Prepares her food in the summer
And gathers her provision in the harvest."
Proverbs 6:6-8
Joining with Deidra and others for a quiet Sunday
(although the ants are still out there working today)
The verse is great, not liking the picture only because we were attacked by carpenter ants for about three years. They are gone now, thank God.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate. One of the houses we rented was literally on an ant hill. Took spraying to limit their activities. They are industrious, it is amazing to consider their work ethic. Not my favorite photo either - but it made the point. Guess they are interesting to watch - but outside, not in my kitchen!
DeleteYes. Watching ants in Uganda in particular was a head-shaking time. How organized could an insect -- and it's hundreds, thousands, millions -- of family and friends control OUR lives as they broke through the houses and many, many yard areas and were totally in charge until they completed their job. In the end, the houses were clean, b/c the ants ate all the other bugs [spiders, roaches, etc.], ate up all the bits and pieces of crumbs on the shelves, floor, counters, etc. Either drove out or ate the geckos and other lizard-based hanger-outers. SO, in Omaha, seeing ants is one thing, and keeps our attention, but nothing like what we observed in Uganda. They truly are organized more than most of us are, even when serving the Lord.
ReplyDeleteObviously, you got my mind spinning. And that Word is very true.
Ants certainly seem focussed on their mission... a clear message to us all!
