Out of the Desert

"For the Lord's portion in His people;
Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.
He found him in a desert land,
And in the howling waste of a wilderness;
He encircled him, He cared for him,
He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.
Like an eagle that stirs up its nest,
That hovers over its young,
He spread His wings and caught them,
He carried them on His pinions."

Deuteronomy 32: 9-11

  1. Wonderful scripture. And God brought His people up and out of Egypt.

  2. The phrase, "in the howling waste of a wilderness" stood out for me. Life can feel like that sometimes. Then, the assurance that He is able to carry us out.

  3. Love the scripture and love the photo to reflect it. It is so fun sometimes to find a scripture and then look to find the perfect photo. I though the crocus also spoke of hope, of new life and of renewal. Have a blessed week,

    1. Yes, good words for me, too. He guards us even in a desert wilderness.

  5. One of the greatest lessons I learned while living here in a difficult place is that God is right in the middle of the desert. There is nowhere where God is not, and that is a great source of peace for me.

    1. This verse caught my attention as I was reading, I think because we had just driven through miles and miles of this desert. The promise seemed especially vivid with that visual in mind.

  7. I think it's so cool how different parts of the scripture jumped out at us!

  8. "He guarded him"... what can be more joyful for us who are walking down paths He has drawn us to that look a bit intense? Trusting Him is all that counts.

    Thanks. Good sharing, good thinking.
