Celebration Weekend

Our Saturday trip to the Long Beach Aquarium provided plenty of "Wow," and impressed us again and again with the variety and beauty and color and details of the Lord's creation.
Dr. Seuss wasn't so far off after all

Sunday, we enjoyed time with grandparents, swimming, warming up our summer tans.

The red balloons all popped - oh well...

Monday, the Fourth, also our daughter's birthday, we made cupcakes, grilled pizza, relaxed together on the patio, and watched fireworks from the hillside after dark.

A celebration weekend: time to be together, time to relax, time to appreciate the freedoms we have, and time to be grateful for the riches of this beautiful world.

  1. I love your pictures! Sounds like an amazing weekend of celebrating. There is so much to be thankful for. And I think I need to try grilled pizza. That looks wonderful!

  2. There are lots of good grilled pizza recipes. We use the usual homemade pizza crust (I can give you the recipe if you want). The funny trick is to layer the ingredients upside down: gill the dough on one side, flip over and layer cheese, then the meats or vegies, then the sauce or tomatoes on top. We sprinkle parmesan on top because it makes it look more like pizza "should" look. Grill to heat through and melt cheese. It is yummy!
