We went to a park along the Mississippi River one evening to enjoy the sunset, and let our grandaughter play on the equipment there, designed after a riverboat (of which I neglected to take a photo). The river is at flood level, with the water coming up over the walk paths, onto the parking lot and some of the grass. The ducks enjoyed swimming where normally, we would be strolling the riverfront, leaning over the railing to look down onto the water.
No parking in this section today, but some cars would drive through for fun, the water splashing up over their windshields. Hope their windows were closed.
As the sun set, the scenery became more beautiful. I love to see lights reflected in the water - double the beauty!
The flooding is a reminder that we can have too much of a good thing, a reminder to travel within your boundaries on this river of life.
Wonderful pictures....and a great lesson. Thanks
